Soon the clean up will begin

Surrounded by a River Murray in flood. Will it remain above water ? or will it drown?
I won't be there to see.
The river is a spectacle in flood, but is is also a destroyer of people and their livelihood.

Have you ever seen a square flower?
This is a poppy and it has a square flower. Most flowers are round.

A Shirley Poppy. The flower has opened itself to the sun, light, and every creature wanting a sweet feed.
Why don't we open ourselves to our Maker as freely ?
How rich we would be.

Hands reveal so much about us.  They tell the story of our life. How old we are, whether we have worked hard outside or led a life of ease.

The image today is seed houses.  If every seed grew what a forest of Calistamons or bottlebrushes we would have.

These rocks are not going anywhere.  They are huge. To stand among them makes you feel like a mere microbe, they are so huge. They almost seem alive.
Nothing could stop Jesus from rising from the dead. He is alive. I can really feel his presence.  He is not a concept, a myth, he is real, living.

Todays image depicts the incursion of man using the tree as a post to save time and work.
The tree has, in turn, grown over the  ugly bolt.
That is so forgiving. Pity we humans couldn't do the same.  It would save a lot of hurt,

Picture
Saturday 22 of January 2022
The dance of the pelicans.  They are very photogenic, I think. I caught these characters at a wildlife park.  Covid still rages.  Will it end?

Picture
Monday 17th January 2022
The image today is a friend of mine. She has set up a web using one of my pot-plants.  She caught a bee the other day. The web was broken. after her feast, she rebuilt the web again ready for the next meal.
She is about the size of my thumb nail. I used the macro lens to take her  image.
The routine of visiting Bruce in the afternoons has begun.

The covid lockdown is over I have been able to see Bruce two days in a row.
The image I have chosen for today is quite dramatic

Picture
Tuesday 11th January 2022
I thought this image was very dramatic and wanted to share it. Photography allows a lot of creative leeway.
Covid contunues to rage.  Bruce is still in lockdown. I have not seen him in person f0r nearly three weeks.

Happy New Year.
This is an image of a fern frond unfurling.
reminds me of the New Year.
The year will unfurl like this frond.
We know how the frond will turn out but we have to live the year to find out how it turned out.
I wish you all every blessing for the coming year.

Christmas may have been just my husband and I but we were not alone.
Where two or three are gathered in my name there am I in the midst. Jesus was with us.
my image today signifies just one. But one person with Christ can take on the world and win.

This little lizard has dropped by to say Merry Christmas folks.
Covid has changed my Christmas significantly.  Just my husband and myself.  We have experienced many different Christmases in our life.

Picture
December 20th 2021 Monday.
This rose is reminiscent  of a fire.
The rose also has elements of velvet.
Such brilliant color.
Life has many colors, some brilliant experiences and some very bad experiences.
God said,Çast your care on me and I will give you rest.'

Picture
 Sunday December 19 2021.
Soon, another year will unfold.
What does the coming year hold for us.
This beautiful rose, budded, bloomed and faded.
It's life span was short, but it did what it was meant to do.
God has a plan for us, have we interrupted his plan by doing our own thing?

Picture
 Saturday December 11th 2021
Christmas is almost here.
The mad scramble to make Christmas Even and Christmas Day perfect is on.
It takes weeks to prepare and in a day it is over.
We are left with the aftermath, the let down,  the anti climax.
What to do next? Aaah, the sales. Shop until we drop even though we are all shopped  out.
Any way, Enjoy Christmas, the family, the friends, the holidays, the everything that goes to make Christmas.

This iris blessed me with its bloom this year. I bought the corms 2 years ago. It grew but didn't flower. This year I felt sure I would enjoy its colors. Alas, we moved house. determined to keep the iris I dug it up and potted it. I was sure it would not bloom but it has to my great joy

Picture
Sunday October 31 2021
Yesterday I visited an Open Garden. The garden featured irises of all colors. So beautiful.
The best though is the peony(pictured) I had never seen peonies,  I had read about them. I discovered, they like frost, in fact they don't thrive unless they are frosted.

Picture
October 30th 2021.   I Spy with my wooden eye.
It has been a long time since my last entry. Much has happened.
Bruce nd I moved house, I fell and broke my arm, I had a mild heart attack.  Bruce is in care because I can't look after him.
We are in the same retirement village just not together after 69 years. It is not how we planned but we are rejoicing in the Lord because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Covid-19 lock down is over.  Excitement everywhere at being free to go about our business.  We have to wear masks.

Picture
23rd of July 2021. everything is about covid lockdown.
the coldest day for years and the wettest.  Didn't wash today need to get up early and make the most of a sunny slot in the weather later today.
The yellow wattle indicates spring is not far away. It give a ray of sunshine in the rather dull winter days.
Happy lock-down everyone.

Picture
22nd July 2021.  South Aust, in a 7 day lockdown in an effort to stem outbreaks of Covid virus.
I stayed home from doing the weekly shop, instead my shopping carer did the shopping for me.
The cute little bee in my image isn't concerned with the virus, his only concern is gathering enough to take back to the hive to store up for a rainy day and to feed the hive.

Picture
    19th July 2021.  Today's image is a river gum 300 years old.
It is growing in a parkland nearby It is king of all it surveys.
I am glad that the early settlers did cut it down but chose to create a park to preserve it. I marvel that it was old when the first white settlers came.  It has lots of other siblings in the park equally as big which indicate that they are as old.

Picture
July 16 2021.  These little faces  are still greeting callers at  my front door.  I love them, they are different, that's why. But they are still pansies with cheerful faces.  I love the way the lines run into the dark centre. I think of the lines as pencil lines, maybe someone scribbled on the petal.

Picture
July 14th 2021  The protea bush is coming into flower. It is covered in buds. What a golden glory it will be.
Bruce & I are going to move to another retirement Village in the hope of getting better care for Bruce.

Picture
July 12th 2021. I walked to the post box and on the way I saw this guy.
I returned to the  unit as fast as I could, praying that it wouldn't fly away.
The butterfly was still there. I wasn't sure if it wasn't active because of the cold, or because it had just left it's cocoon, or that it was waiting to die.
I was so excited to capture it. I took several images. I will share more    images tomorrow.

Picture
July 7th 2021 The image today is a New Holland Honey -eater.  He is looking for sweetness in the grevillea bush. I find these birds are very illusive. The slightest movement and they vanish.

Picture
6th June 2021
Another cloudscape similar to yesterdays. The sun has lit a cloud behind the stormy cloud. I was fascinated when I took these images how the cloud changed shape so quickly. I was intrigued how the sun back lit the clouds.
We have decided to move to another aged care facility up in the Mt Lofty Ranges called Bellview Heights. No date yet for moving. Lots of paper work ye. We will buy the unit.

Picture
July 5th 2021
Today is our 69th Wedding Anniversary. It was a cold wet day. A few photos were taken between showers.
My image is a cloudscape with the sun shining behind the cloud.

Covid virus still rages. in Australia.  More lockdowns, threats of lockdowns. The government is blamed, people are reluctant to present for vaccination for various reasons. Most important of all is whether there will be a footy match. Covid or no Covid football must go on. Our image today is of twin buds of a protea. The bush is virulent grower. This year it has grown huge
I used my wide angle lens. It has made the buds really pop.

Picture

28th June 2021
todays image is this succulent. I love the almost black foliage.
In fact, mid summer when the sun shines on it it is black.
I was taken out for afternoon tea by my son and daughter-in-law.
The anthology that I put together is launch of Face Book,. it is an e book and can be ordered from KLMPublishing.com
The blossoms have been washed away and the birds have left to find thier sweetness fix somewhere else. The view from our lounge window is rather wet, bleak and soggy.

todays image are the poinsettias I can see from my kitchen window. The
raindrops on the flower heads  gives them a magical appearance  They have grown huge this year and I can't really see their beauty.
l love the brilliance on a wet, dull winter'

Life get crazy when you are young but it gets crazier when you are old. I was given a white orchid for Mother's Day. I took an image looking right into its heart.  Sometimes life is crazy and mother's do open up their hearts and reveal their true selves

My laptop decided to read the photo card. so I have posted an image fresh out of the camera.
Illustrating today is a fuschia.  I have three varieties
I posted the second of them on June 1st.
This one reminds of of a lady dressed in white skirt and pink jacket.  I'm growing them in pots.
A friend called this morning.  We have much in common.

More Rain.  Not inviting to go out and seeking new images. Much easier to stay indoors where it is warm. The red heads of the Poinsettias are brilliant and as I look out my kitchen window I see brilliant red heads. The red heads brighten up the wet winter days.

Picture
Friday 18th June 2021
I just love trying to take sparkles of light through trees or around buildings.  I need to experiment more with this technique.
I was fairly happy with this image.
It has rained lots here over the last 2 days.  Everything is soggy and wet. It promises to be a good harvest this year.

Picture
Wednesday 16th June 2021
This image of toadstools rising from the ground was taken a while ago.  I did not use my Wide Angle lens. They come up in the lawn and around stumps. They can't be eaten.  I think they are quite photogenic. I like to think of them as fairy houses. They remind me as well, of grass roofed houses. Today I go shopping

Sunday 13th June 2021
Today my first child was born.  Yesterday I went shopping for plants  to replace  the dead ones. I found this fascinating pansy. I couldn't resist buying it.  Of course I took it with my wide angle Lens. On the left is three galah's.  A flock of a dozen galah's flew into the garden landing on the lawn in front of our lounge room window. I took the three drinking through the window.

FRIDAY 11 JUNE 2021
It was cold over night and I haven't poked my nose outside today. But I have a pictorial offering that I took yesterday. Of course it is using the wide Angle macro lens again. The poinsettia bushes are flowering. They are not flowers really just leaves that have turned a brilliant red.  The red lights up the drab winter every time I look out my kitchen window.

 Thursday 10th June.
Alas, life has got in the way of sharing my photographic life.  Today I have some storm clouds at sunset. My wide Angle macro lens is to the fore.
Yes, I'm still experimenting.
I am enjoying the exercise

The storm arrived early this afternoon. This morning I went out again with the camera and the wide angle macro lens.  I was very happy. I had made progress in my learning curve.
I accidently deleted them.  When the weather clears I will try again

 Sunday 6th June 2021
The sun was playing hide and seek today. The weather was not so cold and I decided to experiment with my wide angle macro lens. I need to learn how to focus, I need to chose my subjects and background. On the other hand I was fairly happy. I'm going to go and try again tomorrow.

Saturday 5th June 2021
It has been a cold cloudy day. No sun. No incentive to  be outside shooting up subjects.
One highlight of my day was finding  that a contest that I entered these images in. Both images  were in the top 10% of entries. It would have been good to be a winner but I was very pleased, because there was over 10,000 entries. Just a little brag.

 2021  Friday June 4th
Today was peaceful compared to yesterday .
So many people called.
I found this geranium bowed with raindrops this morning
I used a macro lens to bring out more detail.
I love macro photography

Picture
There is nothing like photography for a person to see things from a different perspective. This a fuschia given to me by my son and his wife.  It has started to flower again. I managed to take a fairly decent image of it using the macro lens.
Picture
I wandered around the garden and discovered raindrops on a
poinsettia flower. I had to try and capture these raindrops.
they sat there like diamonds enhancing a beautiful lady.
I felt refreshed by my meandering through my plants just like the plants are refreshed after rain.
I was able to enjoy the day. A thought comes to mind,
The Joy of the Lord is my strength.

Thursday June 3
Today I watched a Minor Bird searching a Tacoma  bush for nectar.  I was able to photograph it from my front door . I zoomed my lens to the limit and obtained a fairly decent image.  These birds are very jittery and at the slightest noise, vanish.
I find photographing birds a challenge. Overcoming their nervousness presents being quiet and still.
A thought for today,  be still and know that he is God
